It has become pretty clear to me that we need to form a support system...a "Small Group" if you will, that meets via the Internet daily...one that allows each of us to share our needs...offer intercessory prayer for those needs...and study issues that G-d brings before us...doing it via Moments til Midnight allows us the privacy to really share without fear of rejection...limitations of time/schedule...in the relative quiet of our own computer area...I am willing to facilitate this and will begin a series of teachings called Ha Yesod: Exploring the Jewish Foundations of Christianity.
I will teach this bearing in mind that the readers of this Blog are an Erev Tav/Mixed Multitude of both Jews and Christians...welcoming the Torah education of our Jewish friends and loved ones as we walk through this life altering study...I will ask an Chasidic Orthodox Rabbi to shed light on many Jewish passages, customs and traditional Torah Teachings...I will also several Biblically sound Pastors and Congregational Leaders to contribute their thoughts...I think we will be richly blessed and spiritually filled in ways that the soul is longing for...
We will also intersperse End of Days materials into the daily lessons...I just watched Dr. Chuck Misler's "The Gog and Magog Invasion: An Alternative View" and was mesmerized with the "alternative view" that Dr. Misler offered...there needs to be much serious debate and discussion about his teaching on this...if he is correct, things are going to get really dicey very quickly in the Middle East...and Israel is about to reclaim the entire boundaries outlined for Her Eternal Inheritance in the Torah! I urge you to get a copy of this teaching DVD and watch it! We WILL discuss the premises in great detail! I am also going to ask both Dr. Gary Frazier and Dr. Chuck Misler to offer their insights as we unfold the scriptures on these End of Days together....and we will offer each of you the opportunity to ask questions and provide your thoughts...
Ha Yesod means "The Foundation" - and the Founder of what is today called Christianity was Yeshua. The faith I share as a believer in Yeshua as the Messiah is founded upon the Talmidim of Yeshua - all of whom were Jews! Yeshua is referred to as the ROSH PINAH - the Chief Cornerstone. Just as the FOUNDATION supports the House and shapes the structure built upon it, Yeshua holds up Christianity and shapes it after Himself.
Yeshua was Jewish. He is Jewish. And He will still be Jewish when He returns. That means the Church has a JEWISH FOUNDATION. Learning about the Jewishness of Yeshua and the JEWISH ORIGINS of Christianity can be a life-altering experience! It certainly turned my world upside down 16 years ago!
In our study, we will learn about the Land of Israel...the Eternal Covenant G-d has with ISRAEL - the Apple of His Eye - and Her Eternal Covenant Children - The Jews! We will develop a deep bond and connection to this Land of G-d and Her Children! And we will learn the Scriptures of Israel! All of this will help us strengthen our determination to fulfill the commandment of G-d in B'resheet/Genesis 12: 1-4: "I will BLESS those who BLESS ISRAEL and CURSE those who CURSE HER...and IN HER shall all the families of the Earth be BLESSED!" We will light a candle that cannot be extinguished...and we should be able to bring CHANGE to the Church as She MUST begin to fully understand and grasp what HER JEWISH ROOTS are!
In the Torah, Ezra 3:11 records: "and all the peoples shouted with a great shout when they praised the L-RD because the FOUNDATION of the House of the L-RD was laid!" Beneath the ruin of centuries, the original foundations of our faith await us! When we uncover them, we are ready to rebuild!
No matter whether you are Jewish or Gentile - we are on a journey back to the original faith and practice of our forefathers! It is a journey not to be missed! Your faith walk will never be the same!

Words
Shalom!
I have been grieving these last hours...deeply troubled in my soul...wounded by words that were exclaimed in harshness...anger...disrespect...and I have been wondering how to, once again, move past these wounding words...
Perhaps many of you have experienced the same emotional drain that befalls me when this type of verbal assault is launched...by friends...loved ones...fellow workers...whoever opens their mouth to bring this hurt and deep pain...
There are many types of woundings that occur with verbal assaults/outbursts...you happen to be in the line of fire of someone launching this type of attack on another and you become embarrassed for the one being attacked...and embarrassed for the one launching the attack...you are the one the attack is being directed at and you recoil inwardly at the embarrassment you feel for being so chastised...wishing you could be anywhere other than where you are at the time of the attack...in all cases, your heart, mind and soul are wounded by the words used to criticize you...
It takes a long time to recover from these verbal attacks...and each time they occur, especially if they are repeated over many years, the damage done eats away...bit by bit...at the borders of the relationship involved...
There are so many Scriptural references to words that wound...time after time the Word of G-d warns that there are consequences to how we talk...how we think...how we react to various situations...even the World has slogans that capture the damage and try to turn the wounding back onto the one attacking...do you remember hearing "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me...a self-defense mechanism that little children used to say when called "names" by their peers...
As we grow older, we know that sticks and stones DO break our bones...AND we learn that WORDS DO HURT US...
Unfortunately there have been times that MY words have done the wounding...have hurt friends, co-workers, family members...I stop to think about that when I have been deeply wounded...and I am ashamed of myself and the times...too many times...that I have been guilty of this type of attack on another...
There is a tremendous study I have began doing several months ago on The Names of G-d...I have several wonderful books on His Names and the meaning of each Name He Is Called...those are the Words I want to convey with my life's walk...those are the characteristics that I want to be remembered for while alive and when gone...I want to stand and raise my arms to Him to Whom All Glory Is Due and sing with all my heart to Him Who Sits On The Throne...using WORDS that bring praise and honor and glory to HIM...and the Words I want to hear when I see Him on the Other Side are "Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into what has been prepared for you from the beginning of the Ages"...
Mishlei/Proverbs 18:21 teaches that "death and life are in the power of the tongue"...Mishlei 12:18 and 15:4 that "words are used to wound or heal the spirit"...Mishlei 18:8 and 29:5 that words "shape our attitudes"...Mishlei 16:27/28 that our words are a "scorching fire"...
The Brit Hadasah records for us in Yochanan 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with G-d and the Word was G-d!" Words are the primary units of language that enable humans to communicate with each other. In the same way, Yochanan teaches us that Yeshua was the Word that was with G-d from the beginning...and that He reveals the Will and Mind of G-d the Father to we on His Earth.
Also in 1 Yochanan 5:7 we are told that "There are three that bear witness in Heaven...the Father, the Word and the Ruach HaKodesh: and these three are One." Yochanan believed that Yeshua was the Word...the Second Person of the Triune Essence of G-d. He also teaches us in the book of Revelation that the Word - Yeshua - is victorious over all His enemies at the End of Days..."He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood...and His Name is The Word of G-d!" (Revelation 19:13).
When asked by a young Jewish Leader what was the most important Mitzvot/Commandment, Yeshua replied "Shema Yisrael! Adonai Eloheinu! Adonai Echad!" - "You are to love Adonai your G-d with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. This is the greatest and most important Mitzvot. And a second is similar to it: "You are love your neighbor as yourself." All of the Torah and Prophets are dependent upon these two Mitzvot." (Mattityahu/Matthew 22:34-40)
Loving G-d! Loving Each Other! Let's choose our words carefully...someday they will be the last ones we speak!

A Cancer Is Destroying Our Nation
In January, 2009 while Israel was defending Herself against the continual onslaught of Kassam Missiles fired upon the Southern Negev area by the terrorists in Gaza in what was identified as "Operation Cast Lead" the Obama Administration conceived and executed HB 1388.
HB 1388 reads as follows:
Presidential Determination No. 2009-15 January 27, 2009
By the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, including section 2 (c) (1) of the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1962, the "Act" as amended (22 U.S.C. 2601), I hereby determine, pursuant to section 2 (c) (1) of the Act,, that it is important to the national interest to furnish assistance under the Act in an amount not to exceed $20.3 million from the United States Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund for the purpose of meeting unexpected and urgent refugee and migration needs, including by contributions to international, governmental, and nongovernmental organizations and payment of administrative expenses of the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration of the Department of State, related to humanitarian needs of Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza. You are authorized to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register.
This "Presidential Determination" allowed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States. Additionally, they were given free airline tickets to fly here; housing and food allowances to sustain themselves while here; and as you know from the daily news headlines, amnesty is being considered for all these "illegal/humanitarian need individuals" that would grant them citizenship in our Nation. The Nation that you and I work in; pay taxes to; and to the best of our abilities, live lawfully in. Do you realize what this has done? The floodgate has been opened to allow these "humanitarian need Palestinians with ties to Hamas" UNBRIDLED entrance to America - complete with EVERY financial assistance package that provides HOUSING and FOOD....and even PAYS them to COME HERE for FREE!
The elections of 2010 are the most critical EVER in our Nation! MOBILIZE! Join a Tea Party! Register everyone YOU KNOW to VOTE....IF we REALLY work - FAST and PRAY - we MIGHT be able to begin Chemotherapy and SAVE OUR NATION!
HaShem said in D'varim Bet/2 Chronicles 7:14 "If MY people, who are called by MY Name, will HUMBLE themselves and PRAY and SEEK MY FACE and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, then will I hear FROM HEAVEN and will FORGIVE THEIR SIN and HEAL THEIR LAND!"
Just to let you know that G-d is DEADLY serious about this: as I reached for my Computer Bible, it FELL OPEN TO THIS PASSAGE!
STAND UP! Gird up your loins! Let your voice be heard! This is OUR NATION - NOT Obama's and certainly not those who enter Her under these pretexts and drain our resources - all the while plotting to destroy us!

Angels Unawares
Shalom!
There are times when each of us has felt a "presence" and wondered...is Adonai speaking to me? Or there have been times when we have seen or met someone that we just felt "different" and we wondered...is this an "angel unaware?"
I often think this when I see folks holding up signs about needing work to buy food for their families...usually they are near Freeway exits or entrances...we glance at them...and more times than not, just want to hurry and get past them as their stark need makes uncomfortable...some few times I have driven past them, then turned around and gone back with a $10 or $20 bill in my hand to give them...and when I have done so, my conscience has been eased...
In our walk on this journey of life, G-d sends each of us "someone" to help ease the burden/load we carry...on dark days of the soul, a phone call will suddenly come that brings relief to our weary hearts...an email comes from a person that took the time to write us just at that moment we felt we were the most vulnerable...each of knows what that "friendly hand/smile/call/email" has done to uplift us at just the moment we needed it most...when things seemed the darkest...I just had one of those phone calls come...
I believe these are Divine Blessings from HaShem...His Word tells us that He notes "every tear that falls" and "keeps them stored up in a jar" for us...some have said that these tears will be diamonds in Eternity...I don't know if that is true or not, but I do know that many tears have been shed as we walk our life journey...
Today I want to say "thanks" to all the 'angels unawares" that have crossed my path as I walk my life journey with AFFI...my Co-Founder Eeki Elner...a man after the Heart of G-d who has given up everything in his life to establish a Leadership Institute in Israel that can bring renewal to every aspect of Israel's Mosaic...to his phenomenal Board of Directors/Associates, the caliber of which are legendary, today's Lions of Judah: Oded Tyrah, Ofra Ben Yishai, Gal Hirsch, Eyal Ben Reuven, Eyal Arad, Morry Sivan, Yuval Gat, Galia Albin, Nitza Nachmias, Ziva Ben Reuven,Yuval Tanuri...men and women whose lives rival their Biblical counterparts...
My Sister, Nancy Haverstock who month after month handles the Donor Relations Accounting for us; my Brother in Law Rick Haverstock who was the first person to help me design our AFFI Merchandise Line; my Nephew in Law Ryan Kumpf who designed our first AFFI website; my Niece Megan Kumpf who sent our snail mail appeals; Annette Brickey who helps me with any AFFI Project or Event that we undertake; Suzanne Herb who helped me design the first AFFI print material; Doris Mowery who handles all of the AFFI Banking month after month with kindness and the utmost professionalism; Mike Jennings and his Accounting Team who handle all of our AFFI financial matters; Ned Segelken who helped us establish our 501.C3 and give us the legal advice we need; our current and past AFFI BOD members and team: Julie Nimmons, Chris Bolan, Mary Lou Whitlock, Phil Heimlich, Don Bush, Wade Mumm, Bruce Mumm, Mark Knobel, Russell Johnson, Todd Appelbaum, Lynn Hampton, Mark Barbee...
And most importantly, my dear husband, Bill, who allows me to do what I do day after day without ever complaining that I am gone so much or working such long hours...
While thanking these individuals, I must add some newer "angels unawares" that have crossed our path...Aaron, Steven and Mark Plaat who have come to us by what must be directed by The Most High...they are filling gaps that have opened up as we are growing so rapidly...Sam Goldberg and Rabbi Areyah Kaltmann who I know G-d brought to us...our new AFFI Chapter Directors/Helpers Wilma Smart, Tracy King, Lori Barbee, Debbie Evans...each of these have and will contribute to my personal walk and the AFFI's corporate walk...
Lastly, each of you in my Jewish Roots of the Faith Class, Facebook Fans and now my "Moments til Midnight" Blog readers are "angels unawares" that He has sent to bring blessing and strength to me as I labor for and with Israel...your daily prayers are the bedrock support that enables me to continue working day by day... all of you above, and many others, are my "angels unawares"...G-d brought you to my life for His Good Plans and Purposes!
Each of us knows those to whom we are indebted..let's make it a point to stop now and then, turn around and say THANK YOU to them...each of them has made/is making our life journeys walkable in Him!

The Clock Is Ticking
Shalom!
The events of this week have brought laser focus on Israel: Her Leaders, Her Military, and their respective actions. These events have also drilled into every fiber of my being the sheer reality of the hatred directed against this Land and Her Children.
It should not surprise me; I have long studied The Word of G-d and know the Prophetic Teachings contained therein...every one of them deal with Israel. While the world rushes aimlessly from play station to play station, the Clock is ticking...and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. G-d clearly revealed in every utterance about the End of Days that HIS Hand would move the Clock...and that Clock was and is Israel. Those of us who know Messiah Yeshua long for that Second Hand to finally hit MIDNIGHT...we are weary of the filth of the world around us...of the substances of good being turned black by the slime of sin that overtakes every fiber of our society...by the refusal of the world to acknowledge The Creator who made them and this World we inhabit...the lies told that are dusted with face powder to make them appear true...and we wait...longing as the Talmidim/Disciples did to SEE this Messiah who walked this Earth...lived among us and died for our sins...promising that with His Resurrection we, who believe in Him, are forgiven OUR sins and promised Eternal Life with Him and His Father in Heaven...
But we grieve for our loved ones and friends who do not "Know Him" as their personal Messiah...we fear for their souls...and we spend hours of our lives in prayer to Him who Was and Is and Is To Come that SOMEHOW these loved ones and friends will come to see Him as He is...yet all the while, the Clock is ticking...Israel moves from day to day...event to event...sorrow to sorrow...and no one comforts Her...no one offers Her a hand of friendship...no one comes to stand beside Her...offer Her shelter...offer Her hope...she is left alone...abandoned and betrayed by an American Administration that does not bow the knee to The Creator...by a World that ignores and castigates The Creator...and a people that deny The Creator is The Sovereign G-d of the Universe...all the while, the Clock is ticking...
Soon, it will be Midnight...then the Clock will have reached its' fullness and a new Day will dawn! And then, Israel WILL be the "or la Goyim" (light to the Gentiles) that She has been destined to be since the Foundation of the World! And WE, who have waited...and prayed...and cried...and worked down through the Millenia for this Day, will rejoice with Her! The events of this week have brought laser focus on Israel: Her Leaders, Her Military, and their respective actions. These events have also drilled into every fiber of my being the sheer reality of the hatred directed against this Land and Her Children.
It should not surprise me; I have long studied The Word of G-d and know the Prophetic Teachings contained therein...every one of them deal with Israel. While the world rushes aimlessly from play station to play station, the Clock is ticking...and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. G-d clearly revealed in every utterance about the End of Days that HIS Hand would move the Clock...and that Clock was and is Israel. Thus Saith The L-rd!

As we watch the unfolding drama of the "Flotilla Ships" many are wondering "how could Turkey turn on Israel?" For several years, relations between Israel and Turkey SEEMED to be positive...at least there were no open hostilities...
With the election of PM Erdogan, the atmosphere quickly changed. Erdogan is blatantly Anti-Semitic. He has, in rapid fashion, reached out to Iran and Russia to partner with him on questionable matters such as "defense." Turkey was denied membership in the EU and has been sulking and pouting ever since. They have even rebuked our current President, and refused to support a Missile Shield over Europe that could prevent attacks by Iran. None of this should be shocking to any student of Biblical Prophecy!
The prophet Yechezk'el/Ezekiel spoke of these things in Chapter 38 and 39...
Chapter 38:
"The Word of Adonai came to me: 'Human being, turn your face toward God (of the land of Magog) chief prince of Meshekh and Tuval; and prophesy against him. Say that Adonai Elohim says, 'I AM against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshekh and Tuval. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with all your army, horses and horsemen, all completely equipped, a great horde with breastplates and shields, all wielding swords. Paras, Ethiopia and Put are with them, all with breastplates and helmets. Gomer with all its troops; the house of Togarmah in the far reaches of the north, with all its troops - many peoples are with you. Prepare yourself, get ready, you and all your crowd gathered around you; and take charge of them. After many days have passed, you will be mustered for service; in later years you will invade the land which has been brought back from the sword gathered out of many peoples, the mountains of Isra'el. They had been lying in ruins for a long time, but now Isra'el has been extracted from the peoples and all of them are living there securely. You will come up like a storm, you will be like a cloud covering the land - you and all your troops, and many other peoples with you.
Adonai Elohim says: 'When that day comes, thoughts will well up in your mind, and you will devise a sinister scheme. You will say, "I am going to invade this land of unwalled villages; I will take by surprise these people who are at peace, living securely, all in places without walls, bars or gates. I will seize the spoil and take the plunder. You will attack the former ruins that are now inhabited and come against the people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and other wealth and are living in the central parts of the land. Sh'va, D'dan and all the leading merchants of Tarshish will ask you, "Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hordes to loot, to carry off silver, gold, livestock and other wealth; to take much plunder?'"
Therefore, human being, prophesy! Tell Gog that Adonai Elohim says this: 'Won't you be aware of it when my people Isra'el are living in security? You will choose just that time to come from your place in the far reaches of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them on horseback, a huge horde, a mighty army, and you will invade my people Isra'el like a cloud covering the land. This will be in the acharit-hayamim; and I will bring you against my land, so that the Goyim will know me, when before their eyes, I am set apart as holy through you, Gog.''
"Adonai Elohim says: I spoke of you long ago through my servants the prophets of Isra'el. Back then, they prophesied for many years that I would have you invade them. When that day comes, when Gog invades the land of Isra'el, says Adonai Elohim, 'my furious anger will boil up. In my jealousy, in my heated fury I speak: when that day comes there will be a great earthquake in the land of Isra'el; so that the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the wild beasts, all the reptiles creeping on the ground and every human being there in the land will tremble before me. Mountains will fall, cliffs crumble and every wall crash to the ground. I will summon a sword against him throughout all my mountains, says Adonai Elohim; 'every man will wield his sword against his brother. I will judge him with plague and with blood. I will cause torrential rain to fall on him, his troops and the many peoples with him, along with huge hailstones, fire and sulphur. I will show my greatness and holiness, making myself known in the sight of many nations; then they will know that I am Adonai.'
Chapter 39:
"So you, human being, prophesy against Gog: say that Adonai Elohim says: 'I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshekh and Tuval. I will turn you around, lead you on and bring you from the far reaches of the north against the mountains of Isra'el. But then I will knock your bow out of your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand. You will fall on the mountains of Isra'el, you, your troops and all the peoples with you. I will give you to be eaten up by all kinds of birds of prey and by wild animals. You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, says Adonai Elohim.
I will also send fire against Magog and against those living securely in the coastlands; then they will know that I am Adonai. I will make my holy name known among my people Isra'el; I will not allow my holy name to be profaned any longer. Then the Goyim will know that I am Adonai, the Holy One of Israe'el. Yes, this is coming, and it will be done' says Adonai Elohim, this is the day which I have spoken about.
Those living in Isra'el's cities will go out and set fire to the weapons, to use as fuel - the shields, breastplates, bows, arrows, clubs and spears; they will use them for fire for seven years; so that they will not need to gather wood from the fields or cut down any from the forests; because they will use the weapons for fire. Thus they will plunder those who plundered them and rob those who robbed them,' says Adonai Elohim.
When that day comes, I will give Gog a place there in Isra'el for graves, the Travelers Valley, east of the sea; and it will block the travelers passage. There they will bury Gog and all his horde, and they will rename it the Valley of Hamon-Gog (horde of Gog). It will take the house of Isra'el seven months to bury them, in order to cleanse the land. Yes, all the people of the land will be burying them; they will become famous for it. It will be a day for me to be glorified, says Adonai Elohim. They will then pick men for the continual duty of going through the land and burying with the travelers the corpses still lying out on the ground, in order to cleanse it; they will begin their search after seven months. As they go through the land, if anyone sees a human bone, he will put a marker next to it until the gravediggers have burried it in the Valley of Hamon-Gog. Moreover, "Hamonah" (its horde) will be the name of a city. Thus will they cleanse the land.

At my table you will be satiated with horses, horsemen, heroes and every kind of warrior, says Adonai Elohim.
Thus will I display my glory among the nations, so that all the nations will see my judgment when I execute it and my hand when I lay it on them. From that day on, the house of Isra'el will know that I am Adonai their G-d; while the Goyim will know that the house of Isra'el went into exile because of their guilt, because they broke faith with me; so that I hid my face from them and handed them over to their adversaries; and they fell by the sword, all of them. Yes, I treated them as the uncleanness and crimes deserved; and I hid my face from them.
Therefore Adonai Elohim says this: 'Now I will restore the fortunes of Ya'akov and have compassion on the entire house of Isra'el, and I will be jealous for my holy name. They will bear their shame and all their guilt from breaking faith with me, once they are living securely in their land, with no one to make them afraid. This will be after I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies lands, thereby being consecrated through them in the sight of many nations.
Then they will know that I am Adonai their G-d, since it was I who caused them to go into exile among the nations, and it was I who regathered them to their own land. I will leave none of them any more, and I will no longer hide my face from them, for I have poured out my Spirit on the house of Isra'el,' says Adonai Elohim.

Aftershocks

It seems that the world's media doesn't believe what they see with their own eyes...or they fall into the category of our current President and his Attorney General when asked about the Arizona Immigration Bill...if you recall, these"leaders of the free world" replied that they had "not seen or read" what actually was in the Arizona bill. Ditto for the world's reaction for Israel defending Herself from armed thugs bent on killing Her IDF troops in "the Flotilla Affair." If the adage "pictures don't lie" is true, then how could anyone reach any conclusion other than the above? If they read the eyewitness accounts or looked at the raw footage of the attack, they would be unable to negate what Israel's finest undertook! AND the assault on these Israelis as a result!
It has been over 48 hours since this attack occurred...while the world and its' leaders and media have poured collective millions of dollars into their around the clock coverage bashing Israel, the citizens of this marvelous little Nation have gone about their business, refusing to bow to the constant degrading verbal attacks lobbed at them. In Sderot, Class was held at the Israel Leadership Institute/ILI...our students, who live all over Israel, drove down to Sderot for Class...and then departed about 11PM to do the reverse drive back to their homes...some of our students live in the Golan area: a 3 hour drive from Sderot. This is called COMMITMENT...commitment to something bigger than yourself...bigger than the world sees or understands...it is LEADERSHIP at its' best! We are training and equipping young Israeli men and women to assume LEADERSHIP roles in all of Israel's Mosaic. None of these young men and women allowed the ambush of their Military Brothers and Sisters to dissuade their attendance at our National Leadership Program last night! Like their peers at the IDF, our students "stood tall and strong" and refused to allow a terrorist entity to disrupt their task at hand: training to become Leaders of their Land!
BTW: Three Kassam Rocket attacks were launched against Sderot since the assault at sea! Still, NO ONE stayed away from their mission at hand: studying to become Leaders of their Land!
Vastly different outcome than what those "friendly peace activists" who were apprehended experienced!
