The Festival of Light

The calendar is about to turn its' page and become Kislev 25! Even as nightfall deepens, the steady ticking of the clock ushers in Hanukkah - the Festival of Light! It is impossible to ignore the beauty of this Jewish Festival...while the daylight lessens in quantity of minutes, the Light of this Festival Shines and warms the hearts of all who see Her Candles Lit...each evening as the sun sets another Candle will be added to the one/ones preceding it...all lit by the Shamash Candle which stands proudly in the center of the Menorah...

The story of Hanukkah is so moving and meaningful...the refusal to desecrate G-d's Commands any longer...a family who stood up for the G-d of Israel and His Word...who rallied others to fight along with them to purge the Land of G-d of the enemy that has fought against Him for all the history of our world...oil that should have lasted only one day...but burned without wavering for eight nights...

Think of Him as you celebrate and honor this Festival...it seems as if this particular Moedim/Feast of the L-rd perfectly tells the Story of His People...fighting those who would destroy Her and all that He has commanded for Her...surviving many thousands of years against all the forces of hell that have arrayed themselves against Her over these countless centuries...her Light never goes out...She stands proudly today...basking in His Light...restored to Her Homeland exactly as He said She would be...

Yechezk'el/Ezekiel 37 tells us of the "Dry Bones"...and the coming to life of these "dry bones"....we know that the Dry Bones Prophecy is a symbolism for Israel...that Her "birth in a day's time" started the process of the "sinew forming on these dry bones"...and that day by day...month by month...year by year...flesh is forming on the sinew that has already grown on the bone...She is being molded in His Good Plan and Purpose for Her...after all She has been called by Him to be" Or La Goyim" - Light to the World...Shine She Will!

I would not want to be the one who tried to douse Her Light...the Creator of the Universe has called Her His Beloved...and He has promised to fight for Her against any who come against Her...when He Roars, those who have aligned themselves against Him and His Beloved will find themselves facing His Vengeance...

Listen with me for His Roar as you light each Candle! The G-d who watches Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps! Hineyni Lo Yanun Ve Lo Yishan...Shomer Yisrael! Tehellim/Psalm 121:4
